[Music] I've always had I think over the last three or four years I've been having I've always been playing football growing up. So I had problems with my knee. So I think it was I think it was fat pan impingement they called it or some issue with my knee that just never went away. I used to do I took scans. I went to rehab, done the the normal PT training, which all they kept saying was work the quad, make the quad stronger, but knowing my body, it just it just never worked. Mhm. And then over time, it just got worse to the point where I tore my meniscus and then done some rehab as well again. And then even the rehab, they said, you know, you're passing all these strength tests and everything should be good to go. But in my gut, I didn't feel ready, right? And even then, whenever he said, you're ready to play football, you just go for it. Still then, I took another four or five weeks after what he said. And still then I had to play with the knee brace. It still didn't feel right. And that's where the meniscus sort of tore again. And that's where I had the surgery. And yeah, so since the surgery I've been doing standard standard rehab again I just yeah again but it's the same the same things goes to different rehab is the same thing. It's just strengthen your core straight to your legs but right it just it it helped a little bit but there was just a stage where there was no improvement just caused more discomfort to the knee. So, I just tried to search up for just any anything different, you know, any rehab method or anything different. Mhm. Because I was still feeling some discomfort in my gut, in my knee a bit. Right. So, that's how I found you and that's how since I've been uh doing hyperarch fascia training, I've been watching some of the videos before I've done the coaching with you. Right. Yeah. So, how much pain did you have uh before? Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah. And so, I stopped rehab. I was having I was having pains going up the stairs sometimes. Which pain did you have uh before? Yeah. So, Yeah. Yeah. And so, I stopped rehab. I was having I was having pains going up the stairs sometimes every now and again or it's just discomforts in my knee that would just flare up even just if I I'm standing a long time or if I'm walking a long duration I I start to feel some swelling in the knee or some discomfort. So it's like I can't even at this point I've not even thought about running or how am I going to get back to football or anything like that, right? Um but yeah it was just dis yeah yeah swelling discomfort in the knee that just wouldn't go away. It would be coming on and off on and off. Right. So uh what what week did you start to see result doing the hyperfasction training? Yeah. So I think I think initially I was having problems. Uh maybe the first maybe four or five weeks when I started to feel I started to feel that there was the pain was slowly going away generally like walking I wasn't feeling that that pain that would come now and again and I've noticed that my knee since doing the hyper fascia training that even my flexibility in my knee if I'm kneeling down I can sit on my knee I used to try and push it but it both felt right and now actually if I sit on my knee 180° now I don't feel too discomfort which looked yeah it looked impossible a few months ago right well that's that's the power of fascia so so what do you feel now obviously the there's a lot of changes in your body when we started to do the elevated toe curls what did you feel and what do you feel Wow. Yeah. So, initially when I was doing it, I was feeling a lot of I couldn't maintain a long time doing it. I used to feel a lot of burning in so a lot of adjustment feel a lot of burning in my feet and my ankle. So, I never used to feel any barely any connection to my glutes or anywhere else. But over time, I started to feel it grow towards the hamstrings and then started to feel connection to the glutes and the pain in my calves and stuff like that reduced over time a bit as well. Right. Right. So now now it's in the glutes and now now when you walk what do you feel when you go up the stairs? What do you feel now? Yeah. I think I think yeah if I if I concentrate when I'm walking and or and things like that. I uh do feel some connection to the glutes there every now and again. Um but yeah, I do feel much more, how do you call it? More stable and natural when I walk. I'm not putting pressure on my quads or other areas. Does that make sense? So like when I used to walk up the stairs, I used to feel my quads would burn a lot and I thought that was just normal. But actually that's I used to think just my cause needs to grow or something but that's I think I've realized that actually that's that's that shouldn't be happening that's right the segmentation. Yeah. Yeah. Very good. Very good. So uh like what draw you like we have a lot of social media messages. Um, which one made sense to you? Um, because the the social media I think I think the Instagram was very use sort of the clips and just sort of um putting into perspective the importance of of fascia because I've I've heard of the term fascia before and things like that in terms of your feet and football and whatnot just because I've been around football for a while. But probably for me the personally the most useful I found apart from the Instagram maybe the UFC champion and a few others people it was probably the YouTube clips. So like the the the testimonials of people. So just people that similar position to me whether they had issues with their knees or calves or other areas right their feedback they're similar to me they've been playing football for a long while and a lot of them their their feedback that was quite useful. So I used to watch a lot of those channel YouTube. Yeah. Right. So now so now you become one of them. Yeah. I was like I was I was watching what are the other I was like okay let me see this person's perspective let me see this person a different situation different so there's people all around the world you know people who who understand football and you know and whatnot not just people who are muscle building and whatnot but actually people you know it's not all about building muscle right yeah it's not because the fascia is the missing 22 kilo of material in our body the missing 20%. I mean I told you when I first met you when we did did assessment your body is is more build for fascial driven not for big muscle you know so we need to make sure the connective tissue is working properly. Yeah. And and and majority of people they don't understand they think oh yeah we got to need to get the muscles to be to be strong. But when you get the muscles to be strong you have fascial dysfunction. You're still going to be weak. Yeah, that's the problem. Exactly. I think I think I knew straight away is when when we did the assessment and you picked up on the fact that you know it all starts from the lower body, your feet upwards and I think you noticed that my ankles were a bit deformed. Yes. I've always known that in my gut, but nobody's ever mentioned or picked up and that you explained that that's the root of my problems. Yes. And it makes sense because just over time my ankles just got more and more bent or inwards and that's probably what's started to build issues. Yeah, of course. Because the the ankle alignment do matter greatly and in fact that's one of the reasons why you know chiropractor have a business because what they do is pull people's ankles. Yeah. Right. All right. Very good. Very good. So in your own words, if you were to try explain hyper fascial training to somebody else in your shoe, how would you explain it? I would I would say actually that you know when if you ever want to improve your performance or you want to improve an injury or whatn not it feels like it's just going back to basics how your body should function that people just don't tell you about that is not as simple as okay just build stronger muscles and whatnot because I've played with people friends and other people that as soon as they start to go to the gym, their ability in football reduces. We used to notice that a lot with our friend where they almost become a bit more muscular, stronger, but they didn't have the same movement or the natural fluidity in their game. And I've always wanted to maintain I've always tried to stay a bit slim and to keep that. and I would say is how your body should align, should function to give you the best performance that it's not just about um building your quads or building, you know, calves and whatnot. Cuz I've I've gone to the gym for a long time trying to build my calves quads and nothing would work, right? Yes. Because you know the the body is very is very efficient. It's very smart. Uh yeah, there's a reason why you were born in certain ways, but you have to leverage leverage the fascia science. [Music] Hey. Hey. Hey. [Music]
